At home, I am a busy single mom who works full time and puts myself last. At Pura Vida, I feel nurtured and cared for, both physically and emotionally. All my needs are met by the warm and caring staff. This week, my only responsibility is deciding which ayurvedic spa services or nature excursions I want to choose each day. Most importantly, I end up connecting with other solo travelers on the retreat. We share our stories, bond over similar trauma and heartache, and lifelong friendships are formed.

At the risk of sounding all Eat, Pray, Love, this trip was more healing than years of therapy, and I am forever grateful to Rhode Island Hot Yoga for hosting it. This experience inspired my memoir, Stoned in Savasana, which will be published in early 2024 and features an entire chapter about my week in Alajuela, Costa Rica.

Erin Waldron, Yogi & Future Author!

Pura Vida and the yoga treat hosted annually by Rhode Island Hot Yoga is incredibly special. In fact, I’ve gone for the past 4 years in a row because there that I have found the perfect balance of spiritual relaxation and renewal in the phenomenal seven night experience.

I cannot say more positive things about the many excursion options to the Costa Rican countryside including zip lining through the Costa Rican rain forest, soaking in a natural mud pool or touring the local coffee farm. My personal favorite is white water rafting in class four rapids along Rio Pacuare which I consider true healing for the soul and the highlight of my trip each year.

As a physician with an incredibly challenging career, I always look forward to returning to my spiritual paradise with Rhode Island Hot Yoga.
