Private Infrared Sauna

Get away from it all in our heated oasis!

As our hot yoga students already know, a regular dose of heat can help you stay happy and healthy! When your body warms up, it taps into a variety of natural, beneficial processes that increase metabolism, improve skin, boost mood, eliminate toxins, burn fat, and more. The infrared heat penetrates deeply into your body to relax sore muscles and help alleviate pain.

The main difference between infrared saunas and traditional saunas is how they use heat. Traditional saunas use a single heater that is heating the air.  In contrast, infrared saunas use advanced therapy to promote heat generation in the body.  You will get all of the relaxation benefits of a traditional infrared sauna along with the increased health benefits that infrared offers all at a much more comfortable temperature. Infrared saunas are also dry saunas and many users find this makes for a more comfortable sauna session.

Our Clearlight Infrared Sauna is clinically tested, designed by doctors, and has the lowest levels of EMF on the market.

If you are a new infrared sauna user, please review this safety information and our tips for getting the most benefit from your session

Important Safety Information

  • Do not use alcohol or drugs before your sauna session. Persons using medications should consult a physician before using the sauna since some medications may induce drowsiness while others may affect heart rate, blood pressure, and circulation. We also do not advise trying to "sweat out" a hangover - please come well hydrated!
  • Individuals with a medical history of heart disease, low or high blood pressure, circulatory system problems, pacemakers, diabetes, or any condition that limits their ability to sweat should consult a physician prior to using the sauna. Individuals who are using prescription drugs should also seek the advice of their physician or pharmacist for possible changes in the drugs when body temperature is elevated.  Some medications may inhibit sweating and increase the likelihood of overheating.
  • Excessive temperatures have a high potential for causing fetal damage during the early months of pregnancy. Pregnant or possibly pregnant women should contact their physician prior to using the sauna. Women who are pregnant must provide a doctor's note before using the infrared sauna.
  • If you have a recent (acute) joint injury, it should not be heated for the first 48 hours after the injury or until the swollen symptoms subside. If you have a joint or joints that are chronically hot and swollen, these joints may respond poorly to vigorous heating. Heating IS often extremely beneficial for muscular aches and soreness!
  • Do not use the sauna immediately following strenuous exercise. Wait at least 15 minutes to allow the body to cool down completely.

Sauna Rules and Tips

  • Drink plenty of water before, during, and after your session. Avoid heavy meals 1-2 hours before your visit.
  • Please do not apply body lotions or strong fragrances before using the sauna. Oils and lotions may damage the natural wood in the sauna and tend to decrease sweat by blocking pores.
  • Bring a towel or two with you to absorb sweat and keep the sauna tidy. One towel will be provided per visit; however, you may want more than one! The sweating process is an intended benefit of the sauna. Unlike yoga class, it's recommended that you DO wipe away your sweat so that your body produces more of it!
  • Wear lightweight exercise clothes (like you’re going to hot yoga or the beach) and bring a dry change of clothes for afterwards. Changing areas are available at the studio, and shower access is available upon request.
  • Some minerals can be lost through perspiration. Eating a healthy diet including fruits and leafy greens will replace these. Supplements can also be taken to replenish minerals - see us at the front desk!

I can't express enough gratitude for Charis and her wonderful healing hands. My body feels lighter after my 90 min deep tissue massage, where Charis was able to release tension and alleviate stress. Thanks again!

Red light therapy with or without sauna has been very helpful for my healing journey as well as hot room yoga. The yoga instructors are phenomenal!

I had a massage with Brien on Thursday after a 90 minute OHY with Kelly. The space for the massage was very nice, spacious and clean. My massage was exactly what I needed. I booked a Deep Tissue and Brian's pressure was perfect! Strong, but not too much. I am currently not having any physical issues that needed addressing (probably because I have focused on my yoga practice more in the last 8 months ), so I was able to relax and just enjoy my time on the table. Thank you so much!!

Book a massage with Coreen! I did a double at Rhode Island Hot Yoga in Providence on Saturday (1-hour yoga for hips and back class, followed immediately by a 1-hour deep tissue massage) and it was a great experience that I hope to treat myself to monthly! Warming up my major muscles first was a big help, but Coreen maximized the effect with skillful technique and a positive and calming demeanor. The massage room is peaceful and the heated massage table is very comfortable. Coreen asked about - and actually listened - to what my trouble areas were and was really able to focus on them, while still providing a whole-body treatment. I left feeling invigorated and mobilized like I haven't in a long while. Plus, as a member, I get a discounted rate on wellness treatments :-) I would note that it's a bit bright in the massage room on a sunny day. I have sort of sensitive eyes, and while the sun felt great streaming through the blinds, it was a little hard to fully relax when face-up. I've gotten an evening massage here and definitely benefitted from the softer lighting. Overall a wonderful experience that I'd highly recommend, and can't wait to do again!
